Ok well I got a price from Ed (FTF/Ford-PartsGuy) for the factory remote start/security system for my vehicle. My questiion to you guys is it something someone able to follow directions farely well can do or is this a professionals only job?

I have a 2007 F150 Lariat CC. My vehicle is already equiped with the keyless entry but NOT the alarm.

Is this about plugging in different components since the keyless entry osd already there or is this truely a NEW installation?

Thanks folks.

My guess is --- It's probably plug and play. But find out for sure.

I wired my aftermarket remote start manually and its a LOT of work. Took me about 6 hours to get it all wired up, and I know you're not very mechanically inclined so I'm sure you're not down for that.

If you can follow directions it's possible to do. Have done acouple myself takes some time. Gets even more involved if you hook it up to turn on a/c or heat. It's not really plug and play, some wires have to be cut and tap'd into. If i remember the Ford unit tells you where and what color the wires are that your looking for.

Sounds like it may just be a bit more work then I want to get in to.

I may have downplayed my mechanical apptitude just a bit but that being said I am not sure I want to jump into cutting wires and possibly messing something up.
