Estimate my truck weight and driveline loss

I got my hands on a copy of that Dynolicious iPhone application. It can give me [somewhat] accurate 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc times-- but it needs to know the weight of my truck and approximate driveline loss %.

Keep in mind I've got me (160lbs-ish) and my toolbox full of crap (probably ~100-150lbs).

My incredibly uneducated guess is about 6000lbs and 35-40% driveline loss but as I stated, its incredibly uneducated...

Can anyone offer some help here?

EDIT: And I don't have any scales nearby nor do I wanna waste gas getting to one farther out, so that's not gonna happen at the moment. Maybe later ;)

Normally I'd peg it around 21-22%, but seeing as how it's a big truck with a lift and heavy rims/tires etc..

Sweet I like those numbers a lot better :) I'll go with something around 25%.

Any ideas about the weight of the truck?

Somewhere between 5500 and 6500 lbs is as small a window as I'm willing to give.

Hey, I have an idea... you could measure your 0-60 time and work backwards to figure out the weight. :D

I suspect your truck being..... (Heavy)

And your 0-60 time to be...... (Slow)

LMAO! jk. yea i wouldnt wanna see how slow my 0-60 time is. If your not busy type in 5040 lbs and 25% Driveline loss. Tell me what that is and when i get my motor in and running good and well broke in and il get you numbers from a stopwatch

Nah the program doesn't work that way. It's not just a calculator that you punch numbers into--- you actually punch in the truck specs (weight and driveline loss), then you set the iPhone on the dashboard and do a 0-60 run (or 1/8 or 1/4 mile or whatever you want, it'll give times for all of them), and the accelerometer in the phone actually measures the acceleration and then uses a timer to calculate the 0-60.

It can also measure stopping force and lateral motion and blah blah blah.

I've seen video reviews and they're more accurate than you think. No they're not 100%... For one guy it was off by like 3/4 of a second in his super fast mercedes... I'm wondering if the margin of error increases as you use faster cars (harder for the accelerometer to register)...

Dunno, but it'll still be fun to try :)

Estimate your weight.

145 lbs soaking wet.

Estimate your driveline loss.

$8000 plus tax tag and title. :p

my 2000 F350 crewzer weighed 8500lbs, Im gonna guess 6500 is a good conservative guess for yours.
