Engine swap ??

'73 half-ton 4x4 - vin says it came with a 360. Some po swapped in a 302 and in the process, moved the motormount towers back and welded them in

I've removed the chicken sh.. weld and have located a 360 to go back in. Question: I don't know if the towers that were welded in were from the 360 or not. It appears from my crude measurements that the two engines rest about the same place on the towers.

Can anybody point me to the light? Or have pictures?

I could be wrong? but I believe that I heard that the towers do sit back farther for the 360/390's
what I would do is bolt the towers to the mounts and mock everything up before final assembly, that way you know its right

There are Ford engineering numbers on the parts.

Post those.

I looked today and can't find any numbers on the towers. One is caked with grease but the other is clean enough that numbers should be visible.
