Engine swap question

New here with an engine question. I have just pulled a 4.6 windsor out of a '97 F-150 (high miles, suspect blown head gasket). I have located a low mileage 4.6 from a '04. Are the blocks the same, I.E. use the '97 PCM and use my old intake an sensors? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Going by what my parts man told me, there are a significant number of hurdles. Everything on the front of the engines bolt up differently. The flywheels are different (possibly crankshafts), sensors, p/s pumps, ac mountings.

That is what I was afraid of. Do you have any idea what year(s) will interchange? (not interested in any hurdles here)...

Ask your local salvage yard, they have interchange books (usually). We just look at part numbers.

His book only goes to 2003. Thanks for the .02
