Hello all.
I just swapped a 2.9 from a 1988 ranger into a 1992 ranger, which also had a 2.9.
Anyway I am trying to figure out which fuel delivery system to use. They are both fuel injected.
The '92 seems to have a much higher PSI because of the fuel lines and fittings. I would like to simply use the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel rail from the '88 because it's already all bolted on and ready to go, but it looks like it might be kinda tough to retro fit the fittings and lines and I wonder if the pressure would be too great for the older set up. Is the higher pressure generated by the newer fuel pump? Or, is it all the same?
What do you guys think?
Thanks so much in advance.
