Just got back from ecoboost training. Very interesting engine indeed! Tons of power and torque, but still V6 economy.

Dual turbos (one on each exhaust manifold). High pressure fuel system with direct injection.Any remarkable tricks to achieve this, or is it just a matter of really optimizing all the components of the engine?
I'd like to see one dropped in a truck... It has to happen eventually
Its more of a high revving engine.I'd like to see one dropped in a truck... It has to happen eventually

It does. The torque curve goes straight up from 1500 and stays there, but I don't think it will make a very good truck motor (like the 3.0 didn't, good car engine, lousy truck motor).I thought the torque curve was essentially flat from 1500-5000? In the car we have we that engine, it pulls from very low rpms.
Wish I had a dollar for all the oil leaks, front covers, head gasket, and clutch jobs I've done on them.eh.... im sorry vince i have dissagree on the 3.0 statement, my dad had a Ranger with a 3.0 and it would haul anything just bout. we at different points had it loaded down so heavy the bed was rubbing the tires.... and never let us down, i would have it right now if some 18 YO girl didnt T-bone him in it...
