Does anybody know what this (in red) is, and what it's purpose is?

what kind of vehicle is this on (my monitor is dark, and I cant see it that well)

Hi Vince.....It's a 2009 SHO EcoBoost.....that's all I know, but will try and get more information.

kind of looks like one of those tubes (resonators) on the intake hose that keep the "hoot" out of the intake sound.
