E4OD - Torque Converter

Hi All,

Have a 95' F250 4X4 and am planning to drain most of the transmission fluid so that I can change it. This is a E4OD transmission. Does anyone know if the fluid in the torque converter can be drained? Is there a drain plug on the outside of the torque converter?

Thanks,

The torque converter is actually where most of the fluid is held. Good luck on the drain!

You should be able to drain it. However, there are small fragments in the old ATF that some say aid in positive shifting and if you do a complete flush/fill you may have slippage issues. Others state that it is part of routine, albeit not frequent, maintenance.

Wait for other members to "chime in" before you decide whether to change the fluid.
