I've seen some really cool dually conversions from back when the gen 6's got a facelift... Anybody know where I could obtain one these days? (Or something of the like)

Well, the truck is a 2x4... Not looking for a 4x4, now at least...

I've seen the ones on CL, but I'm not digging the utility bed - I'd rather keep the bed I have and throw on some flares somehow.

Reason for me asking is that I saw an old Ford ad that had a conversion kit in it... I love the look of duallies...

Couldn't you just drop in a 10.25 dually from a newer truck?

I don't see why I couldn't, but the only issue left would be getting flares either fab-ed or custom made...

here is a pic of my 77 crew cab that I bought as a duallie, sold the fenders but still have the rims...for sale, mind you ..this is a narrow frame so the budd rims fit w/ no modifications

here is a pic of my 78 ctrew cab duallie...w/ the wider frame..has the spacer/adaptors to allow for the budd rims to be out on w/out hitting springs....this set up is also for sale...the adpators and rims that is

The aftermarkets fenders that were available came from Arrowmark. I don't think they're around anymore. I know that JCWhitney also carried the fenders for a while too. That being said, they're nothing more than adapted GM fenders, so I dunno why you couldn't get a set of GM dually fenders and graft them in.

correct..WERE..available, as of last year , no longer produced, I sold my set of fenders for $450 last year, w/ the narrow rear diff. you can actyually get by w/ a set of bushwacker flares, the outer tire does not stick out that far

notice the difference w/ the width, one side w/ duallie rims still on and the other w/ a 33"

I think a good dually conversion would look badass on these rigs. And that one CL link for $3000 is a good deal for a decent looking rig w/a 428 Cobra Jet

It would definitely look cool if you have a purpose for the dually conversion. I know at least around here on toll roads having dually wheels doubles the toll costs. Then you have to buy 6 tires. Seems like a lot of extra costs just for looks. If you are hauling alot of weight constantly and need a dually then yeah it would be pretty awesome.
