Draining tranny fluid.. And other Q's

Pulled the tranny out of the 2000 F150 today for a leaking input shaft seal. I decided that I will replace the fluid and filter right away as well. With the tranny out of the truck, can I get any more of the old tranny fluid out of the tranny than I could on the truck?

Any home brew methods for flushing the cooler?

I am also doing the seal and gasket between the transfer case and transmission, putting new fluid in the case, and putting a new rear main seal in the truck.

Anyone else have any suggestions while everything is apart?
