Too spendy. You can 3g for way cheaper, I did. If your even pondering about doing it, go for it, you won't be dissapointed. Anyway a stock 130 amp 3g is more than you'll ever need for an alt, and you can find them all day at any g/y for under $30. There are many write ups on how to do it on the cheap.

What about the Alt being internally regulated? I really like that, less clutter under the hood..

Hey Lee...I'd be interested in reading a write up about your conversion...if you have time. I've read it's pretty much the same the same swap as later models, is that true? Were there any major differences?

I'll have to find the time. It's something that I think anyone should do if they need more elec power. Cheap and effective! It's just been a few years (and a a lot of beers ) since I did mine.
