Cloudy glass

Hey fellas...I've got some cloudy glass around the edges of of the Bronco's windshield. It sticks out about an inch from the ends...been there since I bought it. My first question is what causes this? My second question is how to get rid of it? Obviously, glass cleaners and off the shelf cleaners haven't worked, any suggestions? Thanks.

I believe thats the plastic laminate inside the glass thats discoloring. No detergent is gonna fix it.

Yeah...I have a nice 3" semi-circle crack in the middle about 4" up on my windshield, that the PO said he put there when the hood flew up on him 5 years BEFORE I bought it...and now 7 years later, it still hasn't grown any. But if/when it does, then I'll start looking for a new windshield...or if the 'cloudiness' starts over taking the windshield, but that hasn't grown in the amount of time I've owned it either.

I think I'll put up with the cloudy glass.

Had the same thing on my jeep. You could actually see the laminate between the layers yellowing and seperating .And I just left it the way it was.
