carb spacer question

i just bought a new edelbrock performer 600 cfm carb for my 351w i plan to put it on the stock manifold for the time being and i was advised to put a spacer on because of possible clearance issues.....what materials and sizes do yall suggest?

You don't really need to run a spacer unless you have clearance issues. I can't remember if you will or not on the stock intake. I know you do with a holley, not sure about edelbrock. I should have been a little more clear on that. Sorry man.
