c6 trans question

would any one know if the output shaft/slip yoke/tail shaft houseing on a c6 trans will fit other years? 79 to a 97?diesel? aprox year i think the gv overdrive i am looking at buying is form that and i would like to know if any one would know? thank you regurds joe

I know that a driveshaft from a 76 with a c-6 fit the 90 c-6 that is in my 94.
