C6 Shift kits

Alright fellas...gonna order a shift kit, but I don't know what the difference is between these two (besides $30):

I mean...I read the differences, but I don't know how that will affect the transmission and if I want that affect. I guess what I'm asking is which one is 'better'?


And...does anyone else have a preference on brand or style of shift kit?

The bottom one would be better one if you want to keep the trans from burning up in a 4x4 application.I say because you would have more pressure applied to the bands with the manual shift upgrade.Just depends on how heavy you foot is and what its being used for really.top one is good for street use and mild offroad use.Manual shift is fun to play with mud slinging and tire smoking.But thats just my opinion.HOPE THIS HELPS

Ok...but what's the difference in manual shift. With the stock set up I can already manually shift in to 1st or second at the column. So I'm confused.

Its the slip that you would get in between shifts. The manual shift applies more pressure almost making it a instant shift with no rpm jump between shifts.Hard to explain but very affective in how it works.

FWIW...I put my faith in a chain store (the O'reilly's I'm becoming more and more comfortable with). I got the PN from summit, called O's, they said they'd price match ($7 difference) and they'd have it in tomorrow afternoon. Now I don't have to pay $10 in shipping, wait 3 business days or worry about shipping screw ups. Now let's hope the chain store doesn't some how screw this up.

I just decided to go with the regular one. At this time, I have no real use for full manual, and this is more or less a band-aid than an upgrade.
