Wasn't sure where to put this....Anybody had any experience with changing the first gear ratio in the C6 from 2.46 to 2.72?.

Bwahahaha...I need to be more clear...I meant driving one that had been changed....how much more grunt did you notice?
I'm going to do a complete rebuild on the C6 in the truck and have been thinking aout changing out the gear set.

Got an email back from Coan Converters today...they want a dyno of the engine before building a converter...a PITA but I don't want to have a screw up.

i remember reading an article about this way back when in a 4x4 mag. i believe math-wise it equaled out to swapping from 3.50 gears to 4.10's but you still kept your final drive the same for mileage purposes.

i can't remember, but are 1st and 2nd gear from an e40d both lower than the c-6, and swappable????

Don't know...I just figured that I'd get the best of both worlds by changing that gear set...plus 1st gear in 4Lo would be nice.

Wouldn't a converter with a higher stall speed give you the grunts ?

To a degree...but it is part of the overall package...don't want too much slippage. Coans preliminary number is 2800 with 98% efficiency..not a cheap converter by any means.
