Ok everyone knows I had to pull the motor for the 5th time last weekend! This time around I am upgrading some stuff while it is out...

original plan:

redo heads
sleeve spark plug holes to eliminate blown plugs
new cams
new cam gears
underdrive pullies
new headers
then later down the road build a turbo setup.

New plan:

After talking to my shop who is doing the custom tune on the truck I have chosen another route...

redo heads
sleeve spark plug holes to eliminate blown plugs
New to me lightning supercharger setup
Extreme tune on the computer to make it work for the charger
new headers
battery relocate
new intake for the charger
new 4.89 gears front and rear in the truck

After dropping the heads off today to the machinist to get the head work done, I called the guys with the charger and they are supposed to be getting back to me about when I can pick everything up.

Looking forward to this build I should be able to double my hp. Right now they are estimating 190 hp at the rear wheels. after the build I should eb up to 375 hp at the rear wheels, but I will have the dyno print out so I will post it when we tune it.

It should be fun to drive when it's done! Do you use quick connects on all wiring and fluid lines?

Actually the motor comes out fairly easy. some bolts on the tranny, motor mounts, fuel lines and the main harness disconnects at the firewall.

the guys think I will make more power than a stock lightning with the setup I have now. I will have no need for the stage 2 cams, we shall see.

Aaah! I knew you were to much of a soft commie to handle the real power! looks like its time for you to hand over that engine and go buy a Yugo..
a real man would go with a stage 3 lighting cam, but we understand if you can't handle the power doc.

He's not scared of engine power. He's scared of the ol' lady power if he spends too much. :wasntme: Why do you think mine is still mostly stock with engine number 2. :headbang:

I know the corvette that one time didn't like me until I topped out at around 130! LOL then he could come on up and pass me!

Yep just all the faster she would run, ran out of rpm's. running 5th gear and 5g's on the tach. thats alot for a cummins(or it was back then). plus the egt's were through the roof!

Yeah I keep forgetting its for pulling not running like a raped ape.

nope just know that it will pull a full sled to a full pull in about 30 seconds LOL
