Brake Warning Light

I decided to install an adjustable brake proportioning valve on my truck and later found out that the switch on the valve is just for the brake lights and not the warning light. So, right now I don't have a way to hook up my brake warning light. Is there any other way to get the warning light to work, like a universal pressure indicator or something?

The switch on the P/V is not for the brake lights it is for the dash warning light. Your confusing me with your question kind of. I presume your trying to get the light in the dash to work?

I was confused too. I have a summit racing proportioning valve and not a stock one and it has a switch for brake lights and not the brake warning light on the dash. Go figure, kinda screwed up. So, I don't have any way to hook up my brake warning light on the dash.

Live and Learn I guess. I should have just gone with a stock PV but for the price difference between the two, I never. When I ordered the summit one, I think I confused myself between brake lights and brake warning light. Oh well. Usually when those lights come on the brakes are already shot without warning anyway. Just thought there might be another way. Thanks.

Hey buck are you saying your truck doesn't run the brake lights from a switch on the pedal? That is where my brake lights work from. The only thing I know that come of the proportioning valve is for the dash light, or does it power when there is presure? OK I think this makes three of us that are confused now.

I originally thought that the switch on that PV was for the dash brake light indicating low pressure. Only until sometime after I bought it that I realized the switch was for the rear brake lights. No biggy though. I just won't have that dash brake indicator light.

Sorry about the confusion. I need to learn to read everything before I buy.
