Brake Caliper binding

"My brother said his brake pads needed replaced. I replaced them, and the rotor due to it being in very bad shape. I go to brake them in by going to the gas station and going back home and the brake on the front left that the damage was done to seemed to be holding pressure on the rotor. So I get it home and once it cooled down...since it was hot enough that a tiny rubber boot was smoking I took the caliper off and got a new one from Autozone. The rotor moved fine with the caliper removed.

So New rotor, new pads, new caliper, bleed brakes. Put it in reverse and it's grinding still like the caliper is stuck! I guess my next move is to replace the short 1/2 foot line that goes to the caliper tomorrow. But I haven no other idea on what it could be... Any help would be greatly appreciated."

Lubricate brake slides?

Possible that a brake line collapsed?

This is an aquaintance in Illinois- knows Corvette's but not a clue about Fords.

Yeah, I've had a few of the brake lines that collapsed letting fluid in the caliper, but none out.

Just as a lesson for all of us noobs, here's what happened-

OK SO HERE WAS MY PROBLEM

the brake pads where so worn that they ate the rotor up. replace the rotor/pads and had problems like the thing was sticking/grinding.

assumed it was the caliper locked up...
changed that, still problems
changed hose to caliper, still same problem.

I then realized that the bracket that holds the caliper was touching the rotor!!!!!
rotor touching :(

what it should look like: (passanger side)

So I take it all apart AGAIN! and noticed that I had neglected to examine the old rotor well enough to find a bearing that I didn't see due to all the grease.....

Popped it out, put it in, and now the brakes work :) well the brakes technically always worked!!! it just seemed like they didn't since the bracket was acting like a brake.

The rotors on the f150 are unlike the chevys that I'm use to where you just slip them off, and they tighten up when you put the lug nuts back on. these have the bearings, and crap inside of the rotor..

I failed my mechanics test this weekend, but maybe I'll redeem myself when my moms window switch replacement tomorrow ;)

Thanks again for all the support and help.

now for a nap
