Avatar Issues....

Every time I try to change my avatar I come up with "Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file." is it something on my end or the site's?

I have the same problem when I try to add a link.What I do is take the pic,have it resized for Avatar on ImageShack.us,then I save it to my pictures,and then upload it here.
