Good Lord....nice rig.....the build almost reminds me of mine and I'm not trying toot my own horn (as the owner of course, you guys know I didn't build mine), but just the little things in the engine bay wasn't done for show on this truck, but maybe that wasn't their intent. It is nice, don't get me wrong.

And then the carpet in the back? That's just weird unless it comes with a tonneau cover or something.

$14k for a paint job? Wow, must have been a lot of body work for that kind of money. My PO has receipts for $7k in my rigs paint job and it was done by one of the best body shops in Washington state and there was no body work.

It is very, very nice though! smilieFordlogo

Oh and $70k? I don't think so.....you should be able to build a couple of these (maybe not the exact crew cabs) rigs for that, no? Seems a little ridiculous. Spend $70k and sell it for $30k? How are they in business?

They must have a 400% markup on all the parts that they bought.

He was probably buying NOS at the same time Duncan was. Coincidentally, I have noticed prices on ebay to not be as ridiculous as they were about 6 months ago.

It doesn't take much to rack up 70k and I suspect paint and other prices vary by region. My truck needs minmial bodywork and is being done by a place that does amazing work (and I have bodywork experience) and my price is around 17k.
Oh...and Ben...smilietease ...I'm still at it and I've noticed prices dropping as well.
Edit...all that money on the truck and they still butchered the dash for a DIN stereo...it just pickles my pud to no end.

1) that build won't hold a candle to yours, I've been watching

2) even if they did drop 70k, what kind of business sense is buying a widget for $10 then listing and selling it for $5

3) is your paint gold?

1...thanks
2....good point
3...you will have to see the finished result.....perfect will be an understatement....example...where the factory has folds in the sheet metal from forming, they will not exist when the bodyshop is done, I guess you would have to see the kind of work in person.

Damn Duncan....that's some incredible stuff....can't believe that's what's going on your truck. Dang....I'd almost think those kinda jobs would be reserved for trailer queens (is yours going to be a trailer queen? I didn't think it would be) and instant classics. Wow! smilieFordlogo

No, won't be a trailer queen. Most of Byrons jobs are actually street driven. I'm not sure what kind of mileage I will put on the truck...not a lot I suspect though. In the 5 years I've had the Shelby I think there is about 5000 miles on it and a good amount of those were from 2 trips.
