96 f150 5.0 4x4 4r70w. No 1st Gear

So my transmission went out a few months ago. Pull it out and dignosed the problem. Burned up clutches. I put a rebuild kit in it myself. Along with a sure cure kit to upgrade known weak parts in this particular year. Everything was clean, and reassembled correctly. Recently got it all buttoned up and back on the road. Tranny shifts good. But seemed to not have all the power it should on take off and in a bog. Even in 4wd. Figured it might be from the motor sitting for almost 6 months. But today I dropped it in 1st and it took about 10 seconds to engage into gear. When it did it feels like it is slipping and doesn't want to move the truck. So I put it back in drive and it moves fine. But I can feel and notice now that it is taking off in second gear. And that must be the reason its a dog under a bog. Any ideas why I could have lost 1st gear. After take off all other geats shift and drive fine.

Thanks in advanced.

this trans is abit odd as different clutch and band sets are used for normal (D) frist and manual first (shiftier in 1)

there no way to check any off this, but based on the power flow either rev band is slipping or there is a problem in the valve body.

first i would adjust the reverse band and see if that cures slow manual first engagement and movement

as for the the other issues of low power im unsure
