95 f 150 302 exhaust question

Hello working on the 95 again. Got it inspected friday. Been driving since sept. With out one. Well i had exhaust installed. A couple of months ago. Shade tree style. . Empty cat, straight to no name flow muffler,no bends. Straight out the back of the truck no bends. Made from Sec. 40 threaded conduit. Well friday night the pipe broke off the rear of the muffler. Since that happened the truck has alot more power..... My question is why?

Took a look at the pipe today. The pipe was clean inside but was 3 inch. And 75lbs . the brakes were too tight also When i got it inspected dude marked that he adjusted them. Just saw that today standing in front of the judge. 71$ cost of court.

Im gonna redo it. Im going to bring it out in front of the rear tire. Im going to use actual exhaust pipe. My buddy made me a 5 inch tip out of chrome road tractor exhaust pipe. Ill get some pix when i put it on.

I broke down the other day had to get a tow home. The plugs were all fouled. I replaced the plugs, installed a msd coil. Truck ran better for a few miles and quit again. Walked home got a fuel filter. Put it on and got it home. It didnt have any power. So i decided to put in a new pump. Well i didnt have to walk tonight so thats a good thing. It seems to run alot better. It has more power. But some thing is not right. It is a 95 short bed 3O2 4r7Ow 4x4 3.55:1

On what?! The exhaust? The driveability issue? If the fuel pump helped, have you changed the fuel filter? Done a fuel pressure test? (buzzed posting, if I missed that you have, I`m sorry).

As for the exhaust, did it have any unions. I`ve noticed in some of my reading that unions and what not have an effect in a pressurized system ie shop air. Whether or not it applies here, I don`t know.

Going to pull codes tomorrow. I got that web site saved on my favs oldfuelinjection.com i have changed plugs wires fuel filter and pump, swaped a msd coil off my 77. fuel regulator off my pops 94 f15O. I dont have a fuel pressure tester. Dumb question can i use a tire gauge? I have a vacuume gauge installed on the dash. Can i use it to check for leaks?

Maybe im not used to it running good its always ran like a lumpy turd. Could it be the junk yard tranny acting up? When i pull codes will it give me trans codes also.

Didnt get a chance to pull codes today. But when i went out this morning to start it i had to try 4 times. Kept cutting off. When it started it would not idle like it should. It idled about 4OO rpm after about a few minutes it was running fine. Could it be the part on the front of the intake. I have herd they need to be cleaned. But not sure how to do it. Also during the summer i noticed it would not blow ac through the dash vents. It would only blow through the defroster unless i was driving in drive not od so im guessing it has a vacuume leak somewhere also

it could be the throttle body (front of intake) when i replaced my throttle position sensor the two little lines that go in the side were totally plugged up with carbon build up.... i would start by pulling throttle body off cause it won't hurt to give it a good cleaning. when i did mine it fixed vacuum problems i was having and crappy idle... fyi you will need a throttle body gasket they're cheap..
