93 Ranger 4.0 4X4 computer codes

Hi, I'm having trouble getting a str8 answer on what i need to fix. I bought an Actron code scanner and got a 111 with engine off and codes 172 & 176 when i did the test while the engine was running. 1st i was told my fuel pump was going, but either its gone or not in my experience. 2nd was told my coil is shot, 3rd was my plug wires were probably bad and last was the throttle body intake needed cleaning. Auto part store geniuses!! Heres what happens..
Driving down the road doing 60 mph, then it seems like the gas gets cut off and i have to completely release the pedal for a few seconds and when i reapply the gas it runs fine for awhile and then it happens again. Since i bought it last year i can't run less than 93 octane or it diesels terribly. I've tried all kinds of fuel additives and octane boosters with no luck. Time to get an expert opinion! This is where you guys come in!! Thanks for any help you can give me. [email protected]

Those are lean codes for both banks. Looks like a vacuum leak, or just unmetered air entering into the engine.
