9" rear axle question

I'm getting ready to do some part swapping between two '79 bronco's and was wondering about the rear axle. They are both 9" axles one has a spool and the other is open, can I gust pull the center section from each axle and swap them and the shafts with no adjustments or would I need to make shim adjustments. I'd really like to not have to pull the entire axle if i don't need to.

As far as I know, all you need to do is swap the center section. I know of a few guys that do that on hot rods when they want to do highway miles.

Yes just change the center section. Thats what is great about the 9".
