Do the 9.75 rearend use a gasket on the rear differ or do you use permatex when you change the fluid?

I agree, those gaskets are useless. Sand it down nice and good and use a nice bead of silicone.

Don't forget friction modifier if it's a posi unit.

I always just use Limited-Slip ready fluid (Redline has some) and I never have to add any more friction modifier. Seems like the easiest way to go, so you don't have to trail and error, driving the truck and listening for chatter, removing the fill plug filling, doing it all over... etc etc.

Plus the tiny little bottle of Redline friction modifier is like $15 or $20!!!
