Can I hijack Tex's excellent fuel pump thread?

Just browsing fuel pumps, vapor lox, and other ford truck memorabilia.....

golly, Tex, I've worked on my fuel lines, tank, pump, filters, really really, alot, guy....not sure I have the answer....that's why I'm here....

So I guess the gas boils in the dumb rubber lines in the engine compartment....is it really that simple?

do I wrap em? switch to all steel?

do I need a vapor return line homemade style? I dont see any such stock gear down there

79 F250 400. utility box..I could not get gas reeliably outa the back tank....never could figure it out. I dont think its rusted.....

tried a elect pump in the back and mechanical stock pump up front....worked sometimes....did away with the electric....can't wait for lawn mowing season!! ::--)) let the boiling gas begin..... :flames:

^^^If you throw this in a tech thread in the gen 6 forum, you'll probably get more help.

Typically when fuel is affected by heat, some (possibly all the line) needs to be re-routed.

My question though is, what exactly are your symptoms, and what's going on inside the carb. Could be a carb problem, could be a fuel pump problem. Could in fact be a temp problem. Without more details, it's difficult to diagnose.
