"79 F-150 9" posi ??

How can I turn my 9" into a posi unit for CHEAP without doing the spool trick or welding the spider gears !? I've heard of an article called "$1.98 posi" years ago that had to do with adding shims to the spider gears to creat a posi unit but don't know the details ! Can anyone help !?!? Thanks in advance !! ...cougar...

I don't know of anyway to do it without getting a posi chuck, To get posi you'd need to stop the spider gears from turning, so mabe by adding shims behind them it binds them enough to create posi. You mabe able to find a cheap posi chuck in the junkyard.

There is no cheap way to do it correctly, and still have reliability.
