Also, can I tell if it's a 6 or 8 bolt flywheel without pulling it...

The romeo engine has 11 bolts on the valve cover, the windsor has 13 bolts. Romeo engines have 6 bolts on the flywheel, and windsors have 8.

Thanks, that's a good starting point. I found a low mileage '99 4.6 in Az to replace my blown '97 and wanted to give the seller some info to check out before I drove 150 miles.
I thought I read somewhere that some windsors had a 6 bolt flywheel..

The interchange thing gives me a headache
