Hey, folks- My wife & I operate a tiny home remodeling outfit here in N.J. These are tough times for businesses like ours. Our old '94 E150 died, and we are looking at a (former rental box body) 2005 E350 with a 5.4 L Triton V-8, 5spd. auto w/ OD, 4;10 rear and 145 alternator, according to the sheet. The mileage is around 120,000. The fleet guy selling these says to have our mechanic look it over, and they will repair anything major at their cost. We get one bite at this apple, and we need to get it right. We've dreamed for years of a truck like this.We can't afford to put paint and lettering on a lemon, and we can't afford costly repairs down the road.
Q: What, specifically, should we have our mechanic look for? They say they'll fix anything major-safety or inspection-related. They'll even have OUR guy do it if they can agree on the labor rate. I'm no mechanic. We're counting on you guys. Thanks, sincerely. -Carpenter1
