Hello guys, I have a 1995 Ford F150 that just hit 160k miles. I've not gotten it looked at in awhile because it's not been used much and plan on taking it in around December. It's having some weird issues that I wanted to try and run by someone and just try to estimate how much it may cost me.
1. If I start it and put it in reverse and back up, it shakes and tries to die. Sometimes it will also do this when I start it up and it sounds like it's idling fast and I put it in R. If I wait until it evens out it doesn't happen as often.
2. Sometimes it'll go in drive and then when I pull out and speed up it'll whir a little and the finally click into place and go.
3. The other day I went from park to drive and it made a loud whirring noise, I put it back in park and then to drive again and it went that time.
With the issues above I've been thinking transmission maybe but I'm far from any type of vehicle expert so wanted to see if anyone concurs or might have other ideas and an idea of how much something like this could cost if worst case scenario.
