1994 ranger Wont start

Ok so the details

Started the truck it started warming up then died suddenly.

Had a mechanic friend look at it. It has spark but he thought it wasn't getting enough full.

New full pump and new fuel filter. still not working lol.

Checked fuel replay and fuel cut off both tested as pass.

All fuses = checked

tested leads to the pump , pass 12 volts to the pump.

disconnected the new filter and yes there is pressure and fuel.

This Ranger is a 1994 extended cab 4 cylinder 8 plugs

cranks fine, just wont start.

Need ideas of what will kill the motor cold and not allow it to even try and start.

Air filter and electric chock look to be clear and clean.

plugs and wires are a year old , we did look them over there is clear spark.

Are you getting any codes?
Check to see if the timing belt jumped any teeth.
Have you tired a little starting fluid in the throttle body to see if it will start?

Thanks for the feedback

As far as I can tell, timing belt looks fine. But with out a timing gun no way to test that yet. I'll try and find some help on that end.

Is there a place to squirt in some starting fluid into the throttle body? Wasn't Able to see a spot, looked quite sealed up.

As for codes, not had any money to have anyone hook it up and see if its kicking out any codes.

Just pull the breather tube and spray it in there.

As for pulling codes ask you need its a paper clip to jump the pins in the test connector this will flash the dash light.
To check the timing pull the timing belt shield and see if the timing marks on the pulleys are in the correct position.
Can't remember if the 94 still has the TFI ignition if it does the module might have fried.

Heads up on thus far

We had her hooked to see if she was kicking out any codes.

Only code was coolant tempo lower then expected.

Had 4 mechanics look it over now..

Last bit of info given was a posible crank shaft censor or cam shaft sencor

Nether look fun to replace.

Try replacing the coolant temp sensor. Shouldn't cost too much.

Or even try unplugging the coolant sensor.
