1986 460 oil usage sense new no leaks ?

My 86 460 sense new has used oil.I was told valve guides and or seals could be problem. I was never informed of a recall if there was one .took it to a ford dealer along time ago they said it needs to break in first . IT still used oil long after it broke in. i took care of this engine with regular oil changes. it only has one hunderd thousand miles on it . replaced the valve cover gaskets yesterday you can still eat off the valve train. Don't want to pull the heads unless I have to. any advice ? thank's mark

How much oil does it use? How long between oil changed do you see the usage?
