I'm confused. The gen 1 truck forum lists F1-F8 but then there's this med duty truck page. I'll talk about it here unless I get booted upstairs.......
I'm about to start tearing down the F6 that I got last may. Full frame-off rebuild probably - at least a major reworking of all worn components.
It's an old grain truck with a scissor-hoist box that came from MN by way of ND. Engine and transmission are out already. Thinking about finding a Cummins 5.9 12 valve with nv4500 5 spd to drop in.
Any input on how that transmission might hold up in a 2 ton truck that only sees occasional use? (I know about the 5th gear nut. Just replaced that on my 97 Dodge 3/4 4x4.)
If anybody wants pictures of anything specific, let me know before I start pulling parts.
