05 E350 Chateau CD-6 Problem

Just wondering if there's a magic button, fuse or reset procedure for my non playing CD-6 unit.
The unit has no display when running.
If I put the headlights on, it displays the time correctly. I can reset the time with the Menu button.
The CD's will index, load and eject but will not play.
Can't play radio or CD under any conditions.

You could try and disconnect the battery, then re-hook. Some guys have mentioned that reset their 6-disc player. Others have unplugged the actual head unit, then plugged back in.

Thanks for the reply. Mine looks like yours. I have taken mine out of the dash (simple easy removal) to check for fuses etc. But no luck. So I bought a replacement for $25.

Is your electrical harness all original? Both plugs are pushed in and seated well.
Was it working fine, then suddenly stop? Usually a CD that gets jammed causes the most common issue with these 6-disc units. Almost like you have a shorted out wire in the harness…..

That seemed to be a common problem with them I’ve changed a lot of units for internal failure

Unfortunately, there might not be a "magic button" to fix the problem, but you could try a few things.
