My DEF was low with about 400 miles remaining. I had it filled at Elk River Ford. About two days later my check engine light comes on so I went to Boyer Ford in Minneapolis and find out that the DEF pressure is low and they messed with it for about 2 hours. The verdict was it needs a new DEF...
I'll try and do that tomorrow night. I'm wondering if I went a bit too long because it feels that the brakes maybe hanging up a bit, plus the brakes grab quick on the pedal.
I haven't decided if I like my grill yet. Just the hood opens, not the front grill like the 08-10's. The King Ranch has the outer chrome painted to match the truck which I do like. the vertical ends within the grill are suppose to represent a bull nose... according to Ford Product Guide for...
390 horsepower, 735 ft lbs of torque. 3.55 gears, will run about 70 at 1600-1700 rpms. Mileage, after 1600 miles I'll be happy with 16. My last few tanks average about 14 and some of that includes pulling 10,000 trailer. I pulled my gooseneck at 21,000 lbs and it pulls it incredibly well to...
I unthreaded that plunger and made it about an 1/8" longer and I'm getting a pedal. I'm going to go with that for the time being and see how it works out. Thanks for the help!
Yeah... not sure where to start now. I thought about trying the other BB, but they seem to have the same number. This is driving me nuts! Maybe I need to make a trip to the junk yard! Maybe I can get lucky and find a bee's nest under the dash!
I bought a 2011 F-350 Crew Cab Long Box King Ranch with the 6.7 Powerstroke. So far I'm impressed. I had a 99 7.3 and 2005 6.0. This diesel is very quiet, however it has a fair amount of "fan" noise. Mileage is between 12-16 depending on if I'm pulling. I got 1600 miles on it. The...
OK --Looks like the part number on my brake pedal isD7TA - LA
PWR BRK
5 9 77The linkage from the pedal going through the firewall has #23 on it.I'm having a hard time making out the BB number, I make out a 12?05 The BB may have a possible 618A on it as well. I pulled the BB off and...
I know I kept my original pedal assembly because the parts truck was an automatic... I can't remember which booster or parts I used, this is going back about 2 years.. Let me see if I can find some stamped numbers on it. It would be so nice to get this resolved, as you could guess!
thanks that would be helpful. If I push the pedal all the way down, I just barely get a pedal, so I'm thinking it is too short. I've been fighting this since last fall. Brakes are kind of important! I have 42's on it with a 460 so I need some braking power to slow it down.
I cannot get my brakes to bleed out. I have replaced the lines, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, proportioning valve, and calipers. I also re-painted my brake booster assembly and in the process may have mixed up some parts from my 1979 2WD F-150 parts truck. I'm wondering if the plunger in...
thanks for the help. I'll try it in tomorrow. I had my steering links disconnected. I'll have to lift the front end up now. I'll have to post some new pictures. It's looking pretty good. Exhaust was installed today. I'm installing a new master cylinder once I bleed it out tomorrow.
I installed new seals in the steering box, everything went back together nicely, including all the ball bearings. I switched from the Saginaw Pump to the Ford Plastic pump as well. With the start up of my 460, I don't have power steering, I've turned it back and forth, engine running, engine...
Looks really good Buck! It is coming together. I've started on mine again. I'm setting a mid June goal to be able to drive it... it will never be done! I have my interior about done, I installed the windshield tonight, then put the (ford 1989 bench) seat in. I got it shampooed yesterday. I...
My pump came off the 1979 460 2wd truck. it is the one with the plastic hosing, which the drawings don't seem to depict. Maybe I'm missing something. I installed that plastic power steering pump with the L&L bracket. Maybe I'll have to attach a picture. Time to hit the treadmill right now.
Interesting... I'm confused more! Thanks A lot!!! I got a few months to think about it!! I got one from NAPA and it was way off... The drawing above seems to be the Saginaw pump.... I believe I need the drawing for a 1979 F-150 4x4 with at 351. I know the 460 only came in F-250s or very few...
Does anyone know the part number for the power steering hose going from the pump to the steering box (pressure side). I had a 1977 F150 with a 351M with a Saginaw Steering Pump. I swapped that with a 460 (L&L Conversion kit) so I had to replace that pump with the C pump with came off the 1979...
I'm looking for a seat for my '77 F-150. I painted the cab Sonic Blue Pearl. What years of seats fit that cab? I've heard 73-92?? Also, are there other brands that people have tried and worked good? I bought one today from a used (take out) Dodge and it's going back... way too much work to...
On my 1977 F-150 with the 351M, I'm trying to remove the pulley from the power steering pump. It appears the pulley collar is threaded onto the shaft. I can put a 3/8" Hex wrench into the pump shaft. I had a vice grip on the pulley collar. I assume standard threads...Any advice. I have...
Thank you for the input. I did find a set of NOS left and right sides. It sounds like they go all the way up to the window. I'll look at them tomorrow.
I bought a right side cab corner from NPD. I can't say I'm thrilled with it. Does anyone know where I can buy a good quality cab corner from? I got one from my grampa that he had bought years ago that is much thicker but the sticker is gone.thanks
It looks low, but if you have a body lift installed, it may be close. I know on my '77 the radiator sat low on the front clip after I lowered it 3" from the body lift.On a side note: I'll start the Waste To Energy job on Wednesday. I'll give you a call then.
