Are you going to put a Christmas bow on when you get it done? I thought you were putting some blue manifolds on so how are they still attached to the exhaust?

i was going to but decided not to...

and i got the passenger side exhaust manifold on... the 2 rear bolts wont go in though... they dont line up.. the other 6 do though.. cant figure it out.. but gonna see how it does...

I have that issue with my L headers.....you need a center punch or a thin flat punch and use it to pry up on the rear of the mani to align them.

Painted blue exhaust manifolds? The paint would burn off in a couple of heat cycles.

Should throw some long tubes on it while your there.

i would throw some long tubes on, but i spent all my dough on the cam... hahaha...

i got the other side manifold on... now getting the bolts in.. also already dropped the lower intake on..

My '79 just blow a head gasket again, need to tear it down and replace it.The head gasket is cooper color. did you spray them with cooper coat or is that the way they come?

The copper spray works well. I heard simply spray painting the gasket works just about the same and saw it done once. Since most people have a can of spray paint laying around the home or shop you can save a few dollars. When I saw it done on a chevy they used chevy orange. Maybe Chris should have used Ford blue instead of the copper LOL.

^^^Yes some do come that copper color. The ones I put on my 400 were vlued. The ones on my 460 were like a plasticy paper with copper lining along edges.
