Sending units

E5TZ-9275-G
This is the 19 gallon mid-ship sending unit only without EFI.

The aft axle sending unit is different, and there are THREE different types: Wheelbase, steel or plastic tank, engine size all make a difference.

Each of these places have one E5TZ-9275-G

I read thru all these posts, no one has said a word about the fact there are different sending units, because there are plastic and steel tanks. Wheelbase, engine size can also make a difference.

The sending units may be specific to either plastic or steel. I do know that the two steel tank senders are still available from Ford, not sure about the other plastic tank senders.

There are Ford Dealer websites where these parts can be bought at 25-30% off the MSRP.

Where is the part number for the aft axle tank's sending unit? No see um. It is not the same as the mid-ship tank.

Text, Section 90, pages 29-33. You gotta search around because the applications are not in order.

Just when you think you've looked up the correct part number, there is another on the next page. :rotz:

Y'all know, of course that Ford is in-famous for replacing (updating) 10's of 1000's of part numbers EVERY :mad: year!

This means that not only do you need O-S-I catalogs that cover thru at least 1996, but access to Ford's in-house parts locator system to verify part numbers.

The final printing of the 1980/89 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog occured March 1994.

This is why you need O-S-I thru 1996, and the locator afterwards.

The OP's friends truck is a 1985 F150 300 I-6 Regular Cab 133" wheelbase.

E5TZ9275C .. Fuel Tank Sending Unit-Use w/19 Gallon Aft Axle Fuel Tank.

Fits: 1985/86 F150/350 gas except 460.

J = 1985/86 F250/350 300/351W non EFI / Use w/136.8" & 160.8" wheelbases only.
