cab visors.... like 'em or not?

I like cab visors okay, but I'd never run one on a pickup I put many miles on because I'd hate to lose the gas mileage.

Lights, I like on some trucks. I'd never run 'em on my Rangers, though- I think they'd look silly.

Yeah that is right. I think that I would like them too. Can I see your cab visor? I would like to see some photos.

...opinions are like buttholes everyone's got 1.
...and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

That second part keeps getting left out.

-------------------

Worrying about what I (or what I have) looks like to others ain't me!
The sun visor Alvin bought for Alvin's '91 Bronco is about shade for -Alvin-.

YMMV? :)

I've yet to install mine, and I haven't ridden in a vehicle that had a visor
since the late 50's. :)

Visors make it hard for me to see traffic signals when I'm stopped at them.
So I dislike
Oooo... good point! :)
I might not like mine after I install it either. :/
Oh well, that will have to be determined later, I guess.

---------------

I also raised the seat when I installed the bench-seat in my '91 Bronco.
I'm 6 foot and -hate- it when the seat is all the way back, makes it feel
like I'm reaching for the steering wheel. I'd rather raise the seat to give
me more leg room, which also shades my eyes (a little) at the same time.

There is a solution to not being able see the traffic light. If anyone remembers back in the 40's and 50's you could get a option for a dash board .

I think cab lights look good.

Visors, it depends on the truck. To me visors for the most part scream early 90's. Like the Lund Racer Back and fast back cab fairings. Just my opinion.

Heck I have been on Craigslist looking for a used one. :)

Visors

Hi Gang,
New to this forum group but thought I would put my 2-cents in. It's a personal choice, and I think it looks good on trucks that are not stock. I found one on Craigslist for $35.00, I just have to paint it to match.smilie Fordlogo

I see the old post now... Either way, someone looking for one, it is available. I can take them or leave them. Done right, they look nice, but they can also look stupid. Not interested in putting it on mine, just figured someone would want it, so it could be sold. They were popular around here in the 80's and 90's. Used to want one, but the fuel price and visibility issues keep them away. My head isn't too far off the ceiling now...

Where you at?
I'm guessing not in the desert?
For me... it's -not- about a fashion statement. ;)
(I'm not gay, I just sound that way)

For me, it's about being in the dessert where the sun can heat the visor
(where the air can cool it) and not having the sun heating the cab by
shining through the glass but also shade the glass from the sun so the
hot glass won't be heating the cab too. Anyone that hadn't spent much
time in the desert might just think that last part is plumb crazy? LOL :)

Tinted and/or filmed glass won't quite burn you, but it sure as heck can
get hot and the radiant heat from it is enough -by itself- to make a little
pickup cab miserable ...while sitting still so the air don't keep it cooled
down to say... 120F?

Makes sense to keep that much sun heat of the glass. I have covers for the side windows of my van so the seats don't get so hot that I can't sit on them.

Have you seen how some land cruisers have double roofs in Africa ?

Visors are really nice to keep the sun out and look cool on most truck's, cab lights only on big lifted trucks. Wonder who makes a visor for my 79 Bronco , good idea thanks.smilieFordlogo

My dad has a visor on his 79 and it is a Lund visor. I think it ads a little to the truck. My bro had a visor on his 96 super cab. I think they look good. Depending on the style.
