glass optionhttp://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fc/full.aspx?Page=22
i thought national still did glass but i checked and they dont. looks like lmc will be the only option
you only have one pump, the one in the valley of the engine. how many miles are on the engine? it sounds like a fuel starvation issue but there are a few other things to check. it could be a bad tank selector switch, either sending unit damaged or stopped up not allowing fuel to be pulled, or...
the internals of the injector can stick due to the film that is created from oil over a period of time. using incorrect oil and filters can cause the issue prematurely. the inductive heating cause the injectors to warm up by cycling the spool valve in a way that will cause the film to change...
03s are bad about throwing egr codes. too many things on a 03 strategy will cause the egr codes p0404 and 405 without any driveability issues. just disregard and keep on trucking. i believe there is a later reflash out that tweaks this code away, let me do some checking.
well the codes are...
a chipped 73 will never be hurt. the best way to kill a 73 is with lack of maintainence.
make sure when you are buying one, look at the turbo fins, try to start the truck when it is cold, make sure the tranny fluid doesnt smell burnt.
the cab will not have to be removed for any repair on the 6.0. removing the cab is the techs preference, some do and some dont. there is no warranty on egr coolers that i know of.
lowriders get a bad rap because of the ricer crowd. there is nothing wrong with a lowrider. there are alot of nice looking lowriders out there and then you have the gosh awful ugly ones. i think your truck will look sweet if you notch and bag it. with the arch on the rear it should lay frame...
sounds like you have a egr cooler failed. the egr cooler can cause excess pressure in the cooling system, but majority of the time the head gaskets are to blame for excessive cooling system pressure.
first thing to do is check your coolant level. take your cap off and look inside the degas bottle becasue the outside can bemisleading. if you have plenty of coolant, mark your level with a sharpie and keep driving and keep an eye on it. if it is low, it may be a egr cooler seeping a little...
you need to look at pids when the truck is a no start to see exactly what is going on. for every 1 way the 73 could fail, the 60 has at least 7 within no starting issues. it could be oil related, fuel related, or many electrical issues related.
try to find a scanner to either check codes...
whenever i replace pumps or the fuel headers, i replace the jumper harness as neccessary. honestly it is not needed, but is more cosmetic than anything else. there is no update needed nor codes set due to this.
they should have replace the fuel pump harness with the new jumper that has the connector eliminated. they removed the fuel heater in the fuel header due to so many water in fuel lights. you can go get the jumper and plug and play within the install and it will be the same as what you have...
even though there was a recall on the cps, we are having some connector issues. run the truck untill she shuts off, and then try to restart the truck while watching the tach. if the tach registers rpm then its not a cps issue.
evap issues can be a pain. the systems need to be put under a pressure to see where the leak is. if i remember correctly the 455 code is a gross leak, usually a line loose or off, or even a gas cap.
