    Supercharging...

So I've schemed up my next vehicle purchase, and it'll be probably the most thought out to date! For the longest of time, I've wanted a Harley Davidson F-150 simply because they're supercharged, but I don't care for the looks of them. Here's my ponder, or game plan (pondering a game plan?)...

Got one of these here things now...

I'm getting bad at updating my vehicle purchases! Picked up an 01 Excursion 2wd 5.4 off of my dealer buddy a while back. One owner XLT and it's pretty clean. It's now sporting my current company info (which is going to end up driving me crazy - gotta keep it clean).

    Back in an OBS.

What a relief it is!97 PSD F-250 2WD Auto, in XLT trim (is there any other way?).I aim to put my goody pile to work by replacing odds and ends about the truck. Needs some visual love but runs and drives like a champ.

    Looking for another HD truck.

I've decided that the time has come to find another heavy duty truck as a project. My needs:6.9 or 7.3 IDI 5 speed DRW, or if SRW - 4x4 XLTSlim pickings with those things considered... found a few that have interested me, but they're either grossly overpriced or too far away from home to...

How to: Bug Removal *READ THIS!

One of the biggest things I see from my customers is horribly beat up front bumpers. The paint on your ride is incredibly sensitive (more so on modern vehicles) and requires many precautions during maintenance.Properly removing bugs and their accompanied parts and guts from your ride the right...

    Starters...

Pulled the starter off of the 'stang today with the anticipation of dropping the new one in... that did not happen. The unit that was on the car was a PA Performance starter, no PN available on it. My research shows that this particular starter is compatible with 260/289/302/351W/351C engines...

    82 Jeep CJ7 Renegade

Okay, as the story goes, this particular vehicle is making its rounds to the third generation of son in my client's family. It's been stored in a barn for at least 10 years (most likely double that) and needs some serious love. When it's all said and done, I'll have nearly 50 hours of work in...

Want to step up your arsenal?

You've probably seen a bit of the work I do on a daily basis... what you haven't seen is the machinery I deal with (Let's face it, I'd hate my job if everything was done by hand!).I personally believe that every car guy should own a quality orbital polisher. I'm not talking about the $35 10"...

    Considering an expedition build...

On my list of life goals is one that I believe should really be crossed off while I'm young and capable - travel the country (and possibly Canada) via my own truck. Simple gist is to have a self-contained travel unit while still being able to enjoy the occasional trail venture. I'd also bring...

    Tire talk II

Back on the hunt for tires for the F-150. I'm looking for the closest thing to a road tire (tread-wise), which is rather difficult with a 12.5" wide rim. The truck has been off road a total of three times and seen snow for a total of 14 days since I've owned it. The highway miles are going to be...

    Brakes and related parts.

I'm finally getting around to replacing the front rotors and have a question. I'm noticing two different available styles of rotors. One with an ABS exciter ring, one without. The price difference is over $40!So, can I go with the rotors sans exciter ring?

    How to: Ultimate trim restoration

If you own a late model truck, you are pained by the acres of always fading black plastic trim. There are plenty of OTC remedies to pretty it up for a week or two, there are dyes that last well over a year, and then there's the best option for that new, deep color - spray paint. I'm not talking...

    Cooling fan rebuild.

After playing with the wiring on my electric fans, I've determined it's time for a rewire. The PO couldn't leave well enough alone and jerry-rigged the wiring to bypass the Perma-Cool stuff and go straight to a fuse. The plan is to rewire everything to how it would have come out of the box...

    Chevy Work Van

    A detailing start-up.

Contrary from popular belief, starting a mobile detaling company can be rather pricey. I'm going to run down a quick list just to show what's involved when preparing a new mobile detail rig.1. Truck/Van/SUV: A vehicle is the cornerstone to a successful detail company. Your ride should...

    Camshaft & such...

Okay, I've decided that I want my truck to sound like a popcorn maker. 87-91 POLISHED trim!

I dug out the wood grain dash trim I had laying around and decided to do something a little different. Using an array of my finest (pun!) sand papers, I'll strip and refine the aluminum trim to a gorgeous luster. I'm in the rough stages thus far, just about have all of the paint off.

    What's it worth?

The dealer next to my shop has an F-350 sitting in the back of the lot. It's rough, but runs. Lariat, 4x4, 7.3, auto. Mileage unknown. Can't seem to find any comps in the area, but I'm thinking they'll make a deal with me.No frame damage or rust. Rear fenders are flawless. Paint is nothing I...
