  1. Carb help

Can't seem to find info on this anywhere. I switched out the Carter ABS comp carb from my 79 F250 400 CID, Automatic trans and cruise control to this Edelbrock 1406 carb. Installed the Ford throttle adapter and unfortunely cannot find a good place to install the Cruise control chain. Everyone...
  2. Oil pan leaks

Have you found a place for a new pan? Seems like all I can find are pans for cars. Thinking a junk yard pan will have the same issue.
  3. Oil pan leaks

Has anyone done any repair work on the old Ford pans, with the dip stick boss that is riveted to the side? I'm working on a 400 out of my 77 F250 4x4. Its leaking from that area. Its not the tube or ferrel/oring. Im specifically wondering if anyone has removed the rivets and resealed it. I did...

  7. Highboy fuel tank issues

Should anyone be curious. Looks like the bottom tank bracket is bolted to the floor. The top is spotwelded to the back wall. I will cut the welds out, tack it to the new body and paint. By the way the studs on top are actually thru bolts. Carraige bolts that enter between the cab and bed and go...

Thanks, let me know what you see. Maybe Ill loosen up the tank and pull it back to have a look as well.
  9. Highboy fuel tank issues

Looks like the tabs/brackets were an integral part of the body.. They look to be molded, and spot welded in. I haven't pulled it apart yet but am I wrong? If so has anyone found a good way of making it work. Maybe some pictures or procedures!!
  10. Highboy fuel tank issues

I'm going to put a body from a 77 250 2x2 onto my 77 250 highboy. I noticed that the new cab doesn't have the mounting tabs, upper and lower, for my in cab fuel tank, that my highboy has. I want to have the in cab tank as it originally had. Any ideas??? No not interested in building a tank for...
  11. Idle trouble

1.Did it run prior to you replacing the carb? 2.Did it have the problem prior to you replacing the carb? 3. Rod coming from your fire wall sounds to be your linkage to passing gear. 4. How is your PVC system hooked? Did you place it at ported or manifold vacume?
  12. 77 highboy

OK, well its 34 inch from outside to outside of the frame in the rear by the rear bumper and I think it was 35 in the front by the bumper. So it seems the front of the frame is the same as my 79 3/4 ton 4x4 and all the other trucks I measured. However its narrower in the rear than anything else...
  13. 77 highboy

  14. 77 highboy

Not sure, hopefully someone in the know will spread some light on it.
  15. 77 highboy

77 F250 HighBoyI have heard that the frames are not the same width. I would imagine then that the bolt pattern for the cab would not line up. And I would image radiator support wouldn't either. They are both auto trans trucks.
