    Cardinal rule, never use a household soap or cleaner on your paint. There are a lot of automotive cleaners that are very cheap. I prefer the old standby Turtle Wax cleaner but there are many others out there.

  3. Rust converter before/after, I couldn't wait for paint.

    I had minor rust on my 2003 and the rust converter and encapsulate worked great. The internet is great for finding anything you need!

    Try the high mileage oils. I have had luck with Mobile 1 synthetic oil , good prices at Walmart.

    Reply on PurchaseVery nice looking truck. Around NJ a lot of trucks customized like this are used for towing boats and RV's. My F150 has 119,00 miles with no issues-knock on wood. Good luck with the truck.

    I can not figure out which pulley is causing the noise I am hearing on occasion. The belt is new and all the pulleys seem tight and there is no wobble. The air conditioner compressor is less that 2 years old. Does anyone have an idea to figure out which one is going bad?

  9. Alternator

    Help, is there a way to check if an alternator is going bad. On my 2003, F150, 6 cyl., on occasion I hear a gravel sound and I can't pin it down. It seems to come from around the alternator. Anyone have any ideas??

    Can anyone help. On the rare occasion I have a gravel sound from my 03 ,6 cyl. Belts and hoses are new and anti freeze is about 2 years old ( anti freeze from Firestone, suppose to be OK with any engine). Oil and tranny fluid are new. So far I have not lost power but just can't locate the...

    I had a similar problem with my daughters car. The dealer service dept. located a rebuilt board thru their connections.

  14. 2003 F150 interior question

    Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem? The interior windshield post trim leaves a gap of 5/8 of an inch where it is suppose to meet the dash. Any idea as to how to adjust the post trim piece so it meets with the dash?
