I will say, though, that I'm kinda partial to that paint scheme. :D

Oh my lord. Austin, I may beat you on a couple of these since I'm at the computer now. Can't wait to see your comments.

HighBoy? No - a '78 is never a HighBoy

Hello There I Have A 1978 Ford F250 Ranger Camper Special All Original 4x4
Weren't Camper Specials all 2X4?

Has The 390 Motor In It
An all original 1978 does not have a 390. Ever. Even if it was a model year that used the 390 - it never came in a 4X4.

For More Info Call Me 503-568-6845

I think Steve pretty well covers it ....

I've only come across a few with that particular scheme, plenty in reverse.

Hey Ken, this looks like a good base to start with. Bring him down a few notches on the price.

WOW.....for the price....this isn't bad....I'm going to text him now and ask a few questions....wonder if he'd take a $4500 cash offer, but might counter to $5000 or 5500. It pretty much has everything we're looking for. It's not as showy as my dent, but it's a good base to work with with a good price and a few bucks thrown at it and it can be comparable, don't you fellas think?

^^^why does the exhaust sound so "throaty"? Does that have something to do with the exhaust itself or the engine?

I've heard a lot of hot rod engines at car shows sound like that and they almost sound like they're getting ready to stall and some of them do.

My dent has a nice little roar to it but it's smooth and you don't hear that clankity clank kinda noise.

Just wondering.

^^^in the youtube video, it looks like the tailgate wasn't painted. But I'll ask him.

Gees ! Every where you look there's loose wires hanging down, with wire ties.
The cam sounds like shit. It's not set upright.
What type of after market steering wheel / column is that.
I've never seen a steering damper mounted to a block on the cross member.
Dent trim missing
All minor stuff Ken.

He states that the tailgate isn't painted in the ad. The 'throaty' sound you here is the different cam; makes for a good soundtrack IMO. :D He shouldn't be too far down the road from me if you ever need me to take a look at it.

Mark, take a look at the pics again, the trim is all there.

In the grand scheme of things, this would be an excellent truck to throw a couple grand and just to doll things up. You really wouldn't have a hard time making it yours, Ken.

It does look like a good truck to work with, although I don't like the way the cam sounds. But I'm no expert.
In the video the trims missing on the bed.

Keep in mind that the crappy cell phone mic is going to make anything sound hollow an tinny. It probably sounds much better in person. Don't focus on the pitch, but focus instead on the rythm and it sounds good.

I have an upgraded cam in mine and it makes it run far better than a stock 351M. And it sounds awesome!

Good point........the more and more my wife and I talked about it last night, where we're not mechanically inclined to do more work ourselves, we really want something closer to a finished product.

We can see ourselves putting $10k into this and still not even being close to my dent, which I feel comfortable knowing there are $15-20k rigs out there that would compare.

It's a little longer than I want, but always wanted something I can take the whole family in as our family grows and this has EVERYTHING we're looking for and certainly compares to the quality of our dent!

Ken , I thought you wanted a Dent , not a donk.:headbang: . Looks good, high$.
If I had gone to all that trouble of taking it apart I would have painted underneath.

I noticed that Mark.....not a deal killer, but when they do something like that, you wonder what else they missed or skipped over.....head scratchers for sure.

It doesn't seem too high for all that it has and being a frame off......if I bought that other rig for $5k (was going to offer him $4500 and ask Austin to take a look for me) and put $10k into it, it's still not a frame off and it still wouldn't compare to my dent and not even close to this donk for similar bucks.

I like the crew cab Ken. That's a sharp looking truck.

Call me a skeptic, but every time I see this or anything that resembles this:

We purchased the truck out of Idaho....

That seller out there has been pretty well exposed.....is this him with a new wrinkle??

The other thing that again to me doesn't make a lick of sense is the under body of the truck untouched.....why? Why would you take the cab off of the frame and not touch the under body? For what reason did they take the cab off of the frame?

On edit, one more thing:

The words 'frame off' and the word 'restoration' should not be used in the same sentence in reference to this truck....
