Taylor Goes Truck Shopping

Insurance be a killer with the mods, also ask if it early or late 99. There was some turbo/intake differences

Andy, with engine mods would the early or late '99 differences be a moot point?.... Let me ask that a different way..... Would the intake/turbo be one of the more common mods they would make?

Early 99 had a little smaller turbo, smaller injectors and smaller high pressure oil pump. Late 99 are the one to get if you want to get little more performance. But being a 99 should have forged rods whether early or late(think they changed to shitty pmr rods 01)

Would be a well set up truck I assume if a truck place has had it. I think for the money you maybe should get something more practical for a daily driver. I hate to give advice but maybe one of those first low mileage trucks would be better for a daily driver? I know as my truck has 330k kilometres (200+k miles) and its starting to get very expensive so a low mileage non modded truck may be a good starting point and do things to it as you like, that way you know it's done correct to your liking and you know it's mod history. Not sure if this makes sense?

That's my dilemma right there, as I said I'm keeping my options open.

That`s a pretty nice looking truck. And personally, I`d try to find one that`s stock. Reason being every one I see that has a pipe (or more), is driven as though the throttle is an on/off switch. I mean on the mat from from every stop sign and light. I realize they are diesels and tough, but I also know a guy who had a chipped/piped 7.3 that had a junk engine at 100,000. Just my two cents.

Could you please explain to me what a pipe is?

I'm a little puzzled as to why it has a pyrometer truck appears stock. Not sure why you'd need to monitor egt's with a factory setup. Find out if it has any fuel mods or a tune...

Update... They have a 2006 F-250 Amarillo, pristine condition. If the rates work out and the stars align it very well might be.

Edit: Forgot to mention its a loaded CC SB.
