need more pics. that looks great by the way. What kind of gun did you use with the paint?

Thanks! Expect more pics next week; I'm cracking down hard on this project.

I started out with a no-name HVLP, but decided I didn't have the proper space for shooting. So, I ended up rolling it on with a foam roller at about a 1:1 ratio with mineral spirits. Works pretty dang well, I might add.

A little teaser for what I'm working on. Results are far from final:

Wow you did that with a foam roller. I would never think it would come out remotely good. How does the over all end product look. Does it look halfway decent

Not really done yet! I've got the total coverage I need, now it's just adding enough paint to knock down any imperfections. But the overall progress makes a pretty nice rig! Here's a fella's rolled on job completed:

Has about as much orange peel as a new factory truck.

Holy crap you can't tell it was roll on. Think it'd be worth trying it with a really dark blue almost black? I gotta repaint mine next year

You could pull off a really nice dark blue, just make sure the body is in good shape before any paint. That color will really highlight any imperfections in the surface.

He has me intrigued with the roll on process as well. I don't have an air compressor or a good place to do the painting, so he definitely has my attention. I've seen other cars out on the net with great results as well. It's a lot of buffing but it's a solution to the problem of no professional tools.

Wait until I buff out the side of the truck... you'll be astonished! The paint supply shop has been waiting on me to drive up there and show them my 'I can't believe it's rolled on!' paint job. :D

A quick buff on the passenger side... Note that I have not sanded down any imperfections; this is about coat 5.

Thanks - you can use most enamel based paint, such as Rustoleum.

Looking good Austin!

Thanks Don!

Overall, it's not too bad of a job. The only prerequisite I say one should have is a garage that the truck will fit in. I would have been done months ago had I been able to store my truck inside!
