^^ this is what I see at first glance :
door panels screwed together &
ripples in wood grain cover &
you can see the speaker
door weather strip coming off
turn signal actuator ?
bent grill surround
dented panel on tail gate
metal bar on inside of bedsides
dents in bed
no a/c compressor
not OEM seat belts
" " shifter boot
never seen that green before.
Probably see more in person

Just to add to what you have:

High Boys all had the in cab fuel tank, right? I don't see a filler for that.

He also mentions a four inch life. That sure doesn't look like it sits four inches higher than a stock High Boy. Has someone swapped a badge here?

I have a '79 "Low Boy" so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also has a 78/79 steering wheel.

Yeah Steve...you're correct on the fuel neck...should be an in-cab, and since it wasn't there, I got to looking and that's the improper bed for that truck too.

Anyone else catch the door mirrors.

All that & no mention of the stupid turn signal switch????
How could a person spend that much money & have the turn signals like that?
John

I see a lot of sins on this cobbled up pile of miseries, but the Styleside bed isn't one of them.

The bed is correct for 1973/76, 1977 was the first year for fuel door(s). The aft axle fuel tank was an option on High Boys.

Anyone catch the wrong turn signal lenses? 1976's from serial number C50,001 (and 1977's) are supposed to have amber lenses using clear bulbs.

This truck may have been serviced at the Portland OR Ford dealer, but...it was not sold new there.

A sold new in OR truck like this would have been ordered from Seattle and assembled at the San Jose CA assembly plant (VIN code R).

Seller posted the VIN which is suspicious as it has OR proceeding it. No such thing as original. ALL trucks (and Bronco's & Econolines) VIN's were 11 digits thru 1980.

OR (if it refers to Oregon) preceding VIN: The truck might have been either a theft recovery or a salvaged vehicle at one time. The polizei and/or DMV then added OR to the VIN

(OR)F26YLC81372.

F26 = F250 4WD Pickup.

Y = 360 2V

L = MICHIGAN Truck Assembly Plant.

C81372 = 1976.

The O/S mirrors are Pep Boys, as are the seat belts, and prolly the Mickey-Mouse TSS as well.

I suspect the cab was swapped with one from a late 1977, 1978 or 1979, because there is no place in the cab to mount the optional shoulder harnesses (first offered as std. equipment mid-year 1977).

There should be rubber plugs in the upper section of the cab corner...no see um.

And, there is no evidence of the in-cab fuel tank that all High Boys came with. The in-cab tank was discontinued mid-year 1977 after the last High Boy was assembled.

The grille inserts were repainted, but are painted in-correctly. The brackets are supposed to be painted flat black, so the inserts "float."

Ditto for the area surrounding the FORD letters, supposed to be flat black.

This High Boy is much higher than it would have been originally...notice the gypo cab steps. There would be no need for them originally, unless the owner was Billy Barty.

IMO, this truck was once a rusty mess, since it most likely was sold new in the rust belt. This is prolly the reason for the swapped cab and other sins.

And...the brake/clutch pedal pads are installed upside down (I see this quite often today). The \__/ is supposed to be on the top. Feet can slip off pedals when the pads are installed cattywampus.

Thanks Bill...for some reason I was thinking the intro to the fuel door woulda been 75 for that truck.
