    Big Changes to my F150

Nice, wish I had paint worth saving on mine like that! Did you buy that front grill Ford emblem new? Mine is in need of replacement and looks like the before picture. Can you still buy them.

    Vacuum gauge question

Decided to change out the throttle position sensor, I had read a previous post about built up deposits inside the throttle body. He wasn't kidding about the black carbon build up inside, about .25 thousands completely covering the back side of butterflies and inside housing. It took about an...

    Talking about my Rear Brakes

It's always good when things go back together and it is better than ever. Just one thing at a time to make it right and get that sense of accomplishment. I've recently purchased my F150 and intend to drive it across the Mt. Hood pass once every week for work. Still a work in progress but so...

    Vacuum gauge question

The transmission is an AOD with .67 overdrive, the differentials are 3.55. The tires are 31/10.5R15 which is 7% over stock and the smog pump has been removed. The only other alteration is it has true dual exhaust with glass packs. There is a slight ruff exhaust sound when slowly increasing RPM...

    Vacuum gauge question

Hi, I've been working out the bugs on my 1986 F150 with FI 302 engine, it has a new timing chain and a full tune up. The truck is performing poorly on fuel mileage at about 15. I've connected up a vacuum gauge and ran some checks that are non conclusive, it does show a slight vacuum loss during...

    Timing set replacement question

Thanks for the advice, the breaker bar sounds like a bad idea. I don't mind busting my knuckles but I sure don't want to hurt my truck. Think I'll see about replacing my impact gun, maybe a cheap one at Harbor Freight will save a lot of time and replacement parts. My air compressor and tank...

    Timing set replacement question

I finally got around to checking the lash on my timing chain and found an inch of slack (previously I set the timing and the mark didn't jump as I've seen in the past with a loose chain). Anyway it looks like next weekend it needs to happen. My question is if anyone has a trick to help bust...

    True dual exhaust

I'm running true duals on my 86 302 exiting behind the rear tires, 36 inch glass packs (came this way). Nice set up but raps a pretty high pitch when passing on the hills. I think they ran glass packs due to the dual gas tanks on the drivers side, kept it tight running down the passenger side...
