I am selling my '94 F150 XLT because I no longer need it.
The truck is in "Excellent condition", all stock except the radio (new Sony CD HU). Rides smoothly and quietly has lots of power.
RWD, 5.0 in top shape, 4R70W transmission, Extended Cab, good tires great interior. 80+K miles, Cruise...
This might sound stupid, but you might want to check the battery cables. If they are corroded somewhere or the ground is not good, that could cause your battery to "appear" dead or even prevent it from charging properly...Just saying...
I've seen it before like that, but never seen the battery go apparently completely dead, or as in this case, the connection going completely open....I will say that after I cleaned and replaced the battery connectors, I noticed that the alternator was charging a little higher than it normally...
Update:I went out and tried jump starting from my Corvette by connecting the jumper cables from the battery cable terminals of the truck to the Corvette.. Nothing!
I finally thought that I would connect the negative from the Corvette to the actual frame of the truck: Voila! it started.The...
I went in my truck today and when I tried to start it, nothing happens. No lights, no radio, nothing at all. I opened the hood and looked at the battery and it's fine. I played with the connection to my alarm and it made a spark and everything. When I got back in the truck and turned the...
Actually, it was the SEMA which conducted the test. Of course, they have a vested interest in the sale of accessories, after-market stuff, etc. Still, here is what they found with the 2005 F150 with 6'-5" bed. It's not a 9th gen like mine but anyway:We then tested the 2005 F-150 with the 6...
Thanks Austin :). BTW, the mythbuster guys are Ok and all, but their methods of proving or disproving things are always a little... strange? Pretty amusing and all but not very scientific. They are more like you & me just going out there and doing little experiments LOL! They might be right but...
Yes, it does fold up to access the bed. However, they warn you against driving with it partially open....Actually, at least one bed cover manufacturer did some wind tunnel tests with various trucks with and without covers. They also performed some fuel consumption tests.
Although the results...
Fedex dropped it off yesterday. I was completely excited about. The bad:
There was some sort of blue ink or paste on the corner of the box. That crap got all over my hands and my shirt. Did not notice until I was smeared with the blue crap. It even got on my newly spray-lined tailgate :mad...
Thanks, I hope it will work well. I did read of a complaint about it not sealing well in some one's F150, although it's not a 9th gen.... I'm pretty excited about it although it was a chunk of change.
OK, I guess I'm going over the edge spending $$ on my truck. First it was the sprayed on liner, and now it's the Trifecta floding cover... I guess I rationalized but it did kind of made sense. I needed to protect my stuff from rain and curious eyes while I travel (planning a trip to the 4 corner...
I read in one of these forums how another guy cleaned his carpet. He apparently removed the old carpet and pressure washed it at the car wash. Then he let it dry and air out and put it back in. Apparently it worked great. Saved him some $$ too. Of course, I'd treat the mold issue and take care...
I know it sucks to have these kinds of thing happen. But you have not spent all that money yet, you might try to find a shop that will install another motor in the truck. A friend of mine who is a mechanic, often changes bad motors or trannies in cars. They get them from the salvage yards and...
Hey Ton, I've been to Amsterdam and drove from there to Nijmegen and back. The roads were great and I found help when we got lost even at 3 a.m. on Christmas! It's a great country to visit, I hope to go back some day in the summer... However, I can't see where you could ever find a parking place...
The more I look at these covers and study them, the more I am leaning towards the Trifecta cover. It's about $100 more than the others but it looks like it would work very well and when it's removed there are no clamps, rails or anything else left on the sides of the bed. That's important...
Hi fellow Ford truck owners. I am considering buying a bed cover for my '94 F150 XLT with 6'5" bed. I first was thinking of something like the Extang Trifecta folding cover because it looks so neat and easy to install. The lowest price that I found however, is around $400, on line. Also, I want...
Yes, it's a nice truck. I added a couple of pictures of it in the original post. I looked inside it as well and it looks very original and hardly worn!
Did you raise the front end? Your truck looks a lot like mine. I wonder how large a tire a could put on my stock 15" wheels and have them work without issues... I have the 4R70W tranny and 3.55 gears..
Texas is a long ways from Georgia :) ... Anyway, I'd have to charge you too much money. I'm old and it takes me a lot longer to do the job and I charge by the hour LOL!
No, I have not met Dixie_Boysles. I figured though, that there are probably other people like me in the forums :). It the F150 forums there are less folks so involved with the upkeep of the trucks. Not like the Corvette forums where babying ones car is kind of an art form :DBTW, I too...
No, I did not take any before pictures. Actually, the photos could not show how badly the paint needed the rubbing compound or clay bar. The truck almost always looks pretty good in pictures. The real test is when you run your hand over the finish...Thanks! It really did turn out nice. I only...
