I had tried to put a 2 barrel carb on my 1984 ford ranger 2.3 and it would not work. Went back to the 1 barrel but the truck never had a air cleaner on it... I NEED one that will fit on it. I have NO IDEA as to the correct one for that year and engine.. ANY HELP? I was told it was the heat riser...
I had the wrong thermostat in it is all. I just got the same one that was installed by the previous owner thought it was the right one....WRONG So all this was a waste of time.
She has a lift on her already. Maybe that's what I need to do is drop in a v8. Still a costly conversion im figuring. I'm also figuring maybe a rebuild with turbo
Darn my 2.3 just sucks and I don't have much money to play with. And I'm at a loss of what is the best way to go. I want more power but want the easiest to accomplish it.
The thermo was the problemWell Guys it was MY FAULT!!!! I took the truck in yesterday to a mechanic for a tune up... Had him look at a few things while it was in there....Anyway it was the thermostat the whole time. It was the first thing I replaced! It was the wrong one. Not knowing there are...
had a idea I am going to ad a 12 volt RV water pump to my heater hose from the pump and when I turn my heater on it will turn on the pump and pump the water through the core... This is the weakest pumping system I have ever seen.
well that didn't work either blows cold air at hwy speeds too. ill get air out of system like before and I will just have to live with this idle problem. I was hoping the finger vane pump would push more water. This ranger is the worst rig I've played with I am about to sell it.
I thought is was working anyway........I am changing pumps today to a full finger vane pump, in the hopes it pumps more water. Everything is free flowing no ex-strictions anywhere! I'll will try this and see what happens. she heats fine when going down the highway at speed, but at an idle cold...
